About the Author
Albert Benjamin Simpson (1843-1919) was a prolific author, publisher, preacher and founder of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Simpson had the soul of a poet, and even his prose was prone to reach for high levels of aspiration. Hymns, pamphlets, articles and books flowed from his pen. He covered a wide range of doctrinal subjects and almost every book of the Bible. The Gospel of Healing, The Fourfold Gospel, The Cross of Christ and The Names of Jesus are just a few of the hundreds of books he wrote in his lifetime.

Rare Classic

Christ in the Bible Commentary (4 vols.) is a rare classic. The title speaks for itself, with regard to the main premise of this work. I wish we could have captured more of A. B. Simpson's work in print.
The author speaks in a timeless style, that will inform this generation of pastors and teachers to communicate Christ-centered messages and lessons. There are parts of these volumes that are devotional, that will enrich the spirit of the earnest reader.

Not an in-depth review of the bible, very short comments on certain passages. Good for Genral knowledge, but not in-depth study

These commentaries did not have enough in depth material which is what I was looking for. AB Simpson was a great evangelist and writer. I have many of his books. I would strongly encourage anyone to find a book title that you find interesting or that is appropriate for you circumstances and purchase it, you will not regret it.

Read these books. You'll be glad you did.

I read this series of books and found them enriching. Old testament passages I knew as they told whatever story they told had a hidden revealing of Christ. I found myself quoting A.B.Simpson as if he were my good friend. Just to give you an example: Compare Moses to Christ. Moses founded Judaism. Christ founded Christianity. He gave law. Jesus gave the gospel. Moses delivered his people from Egypt. Jesus is our Redeemer. Moses founded system of sacrifices. Jesus is the great sacrifice. Moses built the sanctuary. Jesus is the sanctuary. Moses was the mediator between Israel and God. Jesus is our access to the Father. I am a mom and grand mom. I think anyone could be blessed and taught by this series.
